A company born in the “chaos” of vanilla

2018: A post-cyclonic context

Vanilla had just come out of a crisis caused by two cyclones, which had led to irregular prices and poor quality. Many vanilla operators were not concerned about export quality; and farmers, in order to survive after this crisis, were harvesting the pods too early. Unknowingly, this resulted in a harvest of decidedly poor quality.

2020: COVID impacts international trade…

As with many other operators, everything is on hold, we are looking for new perspectives and we want to innovate, but the context does not allow it. Madagascar is experiencing a political and economic crisis that is creating volatility in vanilla prices and market instability.

It was at this precise moment that our vision for vanilla matured:

Born in the low times of vanilla and its universe, we experienced the scam. The farming communities were desperately looking for buyers, yet customers had a hard time believing in the quality of Madagascar vanilla.

In this particularly difficult context, a long-term vision is imperative at our level:

• Raise awareness among farmers about practices that guarantee vanilla that sells

• Seriously consider the living conditions of our farmers so that they have a decent income

• Rigorous and meticulous quality monitoring at the precise moment of vanilla processing (from scalding to sorting)

• Seek a long-term customer relationship rather than a “customer contract”

• Understand the real needs of each client and propose appropriate solutions

Yes,

When you order from Vanilla Link, you are taking a guaranteed step towards improving the industry.
